About Gloria . . .
Gloria always loved drawing and painting as a child. And as an adult, while raising her four children, she continued her studies and obtained a B.A. in Illustration from the Academy of Art College in San Francisco. She specialized in children’s illustration because it is her favorite mode of art – creating characters and environments that appeal to children. Choosing Illustration for her major enabled her to familiarize herself with an unlimited variety of subjects and media, and taught her to tell stories through her drawings and paintings.
For the past 6 1/2 years, Gloria has worked for a children’s book publisher, Treasure Bay, in San Anselmo, CA. Treasure Bay publishes books for shared-reading for children in K-3 grades.  Gloria helps in creating each new title and releasing it into the market.  She has illustrated one of Treasure Bay’s newest books, We All Sleep. With its soft illustrations, it is appealing to children as a bedtime story, as it offers glimpses of animals in their environments as they live, play and sleep. With its shared-reading format, the parent reads a page, and then the child can read his/her own page, leveled for K-1 grades. Gloria also loves the California landscape and loves to paint it in oils and acrylics.  She has also taught art classes and camps for children.
